Like the PSS window control modules, these simulator modules are intended for use in armored and protective service vehicle applications and are designed for the 2021-2023 model year GM full size SUV’s including the Suburban, Yukon XL, Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade. Because the window lift motors in the vehicles are a “smart” module that communicates with the vehicle you cannot simply remove the window motor. Doing so will cause diagnostic error messages to appear on the driver information center (DIC) and loss of door closed information to vehicle systems (impacting retained power accessory mode, radio shut off, interior lights etc).

The Product & Service Solutions (PSS) armored vehicle window control module simulators are designed to be used when no window motor will be used in a specific door position but you still want to eliminate the diver information center error messages and still want to report door open/close position to the vehicle BMC. In order for the system to function properly a driver and a front passenger side window control module must be used in all GM full size SUVs, even if you do not plan to have all windows functioning. The PSS modules are compatible with the OEM rear motors (you do not need to change the rear motors or any window switches). The PSS simulator modules are also compatible with the PSS window regulator modules - so you can use a standard PSS window regulator module in the driver side door to retain a functioning window on the driver side and then use a simulator on the passenger side if you don't intend to have a functioning window on that side.
