2nd Gen High Flow PCE2-XL Intercooler Pump Upgrade Kit for Bosch PCA Pump

Upgrade kit to replace the Bosch PCA pump used in many earlier liquid to air intercooler systems. Includes the next generation PCE Bosch high flow Bosch PCE2-XL brushless intercooler pump, adapter harness and bracket. Despite the significantly higher flow from this pump, it can still be used in wiring circuits designed for 10A fuses (15A fuse preferred). The pump is internally current controlled to less than 10A so you fuse is really just for short circuit protection if something were to damage the vehicle wiring harness and cause a short circuit.

The Bosch PCE2-XL pump included in this kit is a newer, higher flow pump that uses a brushless DC motor for increased durability and higher efficiency than the over 25 year old design of the original PCA pump. The brushless Bosch PCE2-XL pump included in this kit outflows the original PCA pump across the entire operating pressure range of the PCA pump and can operate at significantly higher restriction levels without stalling the pump. Note that as flow increases so does pressure drop (restriction) so it is not accurate to compare the flow at the same restriction to see what your new flow will be (doing so makes the difference look larger than it really is).

If you aren't sure what pump you have, follow the intercooler lines to the pump and if it has a Bosch label with part number 0-392-022-002 (see listing images for example) then you have the PCA pump and this is the correct kit for you. BE SURE TO USE DISTILLED WATER AND ANTI-FREEZE in your intercooler system. Tap water has dissolved minerals that will cause pump failure and reduce intercooler efficiency. And anti-freeze not only reduces the freezing point of the intercooler fluid (so it doesn't freeze in the winter), it also provides pump lubrication and intercooler system corrosion protection. You risk corroding metal components in your intercooler system, including the heat exchangers, without the corrosion protection of anti-freeze or equivalent.

Note - many systems that use the PCA pump use a 5 amp fuse. You will need to change to a 10 or 15 amp fuse for this pump. It draws 9 amps.
